Sven Mollekleiv

Sven Mollekleiv of the Norwegian Red Cross was elected to the Standing Commission by the 34th International Conference in October 2024. Sven has been Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross for 10 years, President for 9 years and he has continued serving his National Society as Honorary Member since 2017. He has also been for 20 years the Vice Chairman of the ICRC Special Fund for Disabled / MoveAbility Foundation. He is currently Managing Director of Oslo Energy Forum and Senior Vice President for Sustainability and Senior Advisor in the Det Norske Veritas / DNV group.
Equipped with a diverse background including working with the components of the Movement, governments, the United Nations, international organizations and in the private sector, Sven has built up extensive expertise in humanitarian diplomacy, sustainable development and the culture of inclusive decision-making and accountability. He has been and still is much engaged as chairman or member of a number of boards, notably in the fields of sport, ethics, sustainability, international law and human rights.
